WWE Clash Of Champions 2016 : The New Day (c) vs. Gallows and Anderson

The bell rings, and Luke Gallows clotheslines Big E at ringside. Karl Anderson floors Kofi Kingston with a running Liger Bomb for a near fall. Outside, Gallows sends Xavier Woods into the ring post and slams Francesca II down. Anderson punches away at Kingston before tagging Gallows in. Gallows beats Kingston down, but Kingston eventually gets the advantage. Big E is tagged in, and he runs over Anderson with some belly-to-belly suplexes and a big splash. Big E starts rhythmically clapping. Anderson gets away, but Big E sends him to the apron. Big E goes for a suicide dive spear, but Anderson knees him in the head. Anderson charges, but Big E slams him down for a two count. Anderson gets to his feet and takes him down with a running boot for a two count. Anderson gets Big E on his feet and kicks him in the face. Gallows blind tags in and big boots Big E down. They connect with the Boot of Doom, but Kingston breaks up the pin. Gallows gets Kingston out of the ring. Anderson charges Big E, but he sends him over the top rope. Kingston is tagged in, and he springboards off the top rope into a spinebuster from Anderson for a near fall! Gallows tags in. Kingston goes for the SOS, but Gallows blocks it and gives him a chokeslam. Gallows superkicks Big E and tags in Anderson. They go for the Magic Killer, but Kingston fights out. Kingston avoids a running shoulder, and Gallows hits the ring post shoulder first. Big E blind tags in. Kingston hits Anderson with Trouble in Paradise. Big E follows up with a Big Ending, but Gallows pulls him out of the ring. Big E sends Gallows into the ring steps. Kingston then wipes out Gallows with a tope. Woods hits Anderson with Francesca II while the referee was distracted. The New Day hits Anderson with the Midnight Hour for the win.

Cesaro vs. Sheamus (Match Seven in Best of Seven Series) (25 Sept)

Cesaro has come back from the brink to tie Sheamus in their Best of Seven Series, but can The King of Swing complete the comeback at WWE Clash of Champions to earn a guaranteed championship opportunity?

What started as a bullheaded test of wills over the summer between The Swiss Superman and Celtic Warrior quickly became a battle to determine the next man up when Raw General Manager Mick Foley placed the heavy hitters in a Best of Seven Series and dangled a championship opportunity to the winner. The Irishman, who had been accused of coasting by The Hardcore Legend, wasted no time in putting Cesaro in a 0-3 hole, largely on the strength of brutalizing the strongman’s back.

With no option left but to run the table, Cesaro proceeded to do just that: A skin-of-the-teeth win at WWE Live in London kept The King of Swing in the game, and The Swiss Superman continued to eke out victories on consecutive Raws to bring the series to a dead heat. Lady Luck clearly has a stake in Cesaro’s future, but with his back still hurting and Sheamus in do-or-die mode, it’s time to see whether The King of Swing can deliver, or whether he’ll have no choice but to respect the hawk.

Raw Tag Team Champions The New Day vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson (25 Sept)

Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson won’t be satisfied with merely ending the Raw Tag Team Championship reign of The New Day at WWE Clash of Champions. If the bruisers-in-black have their way, Big E, Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods will be forced into early retirement, never to be heard from again, after their match against Gallows & Anderson on Sunday, Sept. 25.

Having already dealt one painful sendoff to The Dudley Boyz, Gallows & Anderson now threaten to end more careers and turn The New Day into “The Old Day.”

The Club members injured Big E once before, taking him out with the first case of “ringpostitis,” a memory that is still fresh in the big man’s mind. But even though The New Day have fallen prey to Gallows & Anderson’s attacks, the champions remain as confident and irreverent as ever, ready to push further into year two as Raw’s top tag team.

Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks vs. Bayley (25 Sept)

For Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte, the situation at WWE Clash of Champions has gone from bad to worse.

Thanks to the meddling of the champion and her protégé Dana Brooke, Charlotte now must defend the title against not one, but two revolutionaries when she faces Sasha Banks and Bayley in a Triple Threat Match this Sunday.

The Boss had the top-contender status locked up after beating Bayley on the Sept. 12 edition of Raw. That is, until General Manager Mick Foley — at the behest of Charlotte and Dana — reviewed footage of the match’s closing moments and determined both Superstars’ shoulders were down for the count. As a result, and in apparent contrast to the champion’s expectations for a night off this Sunday, Foley opted to turn Charlotte’s title defense into a Triple Threat Match, a predicament that greatly reduces her odds of retaining.

WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins (25 Sept)

Seth Rollins is on his own, and Kevin Owens’ WWE Universal Championship is in his sights, at WWE Clash of Champions.

After a long and profitable stint as “The Man” under Triple H’s tutelage, Rollins was officially tossed to the side by The Game in the middle of a Fatal 4-Way for the vacant WWE Universal Championship, which was more or less handed to Owens on a platter as a result. 

Following The Game's decision to go rogue — Stephanie McMahon was allegedly unaware of his plans — Owens was officially annointed as the chosen one in a move that both validated The Prizefighter’s own years of hard work and positioned him as The Game’s new handpicked top star of Raw’s New Era. Rollins, meanwhile, was left jilted following his years of work in support of Stephanie and Triple H in The Authority, and Owens' insinuation that The Architect had lost a step since his career-threatening knee injury provoked him into a fury against the new champion on Raw.

United States Champion Rusev vs. Roman Reigns (25 Sept)

After several months of false starts, controversies and straight-up raucous brawls, Roman Reigns will get his chance to tear Rusev’s stranglehold on the United States Championship at Raw’s first exclusive pay-per-view, WWE Clash of Champions.

Some began to wonder if Reigns and Rusev would ever actually arrive at this championship encounter after the tumultuous ride they have been on since the middle of the summer. Wedding celebrations have been ruined, hard-hitting non-title affairs have taken place and blindside attacks have been waged, most notably at SummerSlam when The Big Dog pulverized The Super Athlete before the bell could ring for their scheduled championship match.

However, Rusev returned the favor several weeks later on Raw when he viciously ambushed Reigns, leaving him lying and making a firm statement in the process. All of this led to Raw General Manager Mick Foley finally pitting the two against one another at WWE Clash of Champions and personally promising that no one would stop the two from reaching a decision on Sunday.

WWE World Champion AJ Styles vs. Dean Ambrose vs. John Cena (9 Oct)

AJ Styles talks a big game, but the new WWE World Champion may have talked himself into a major corner when he battles both Dean Ambroseand John Cena in a Triple Threat Match at WWE No Mercy.

On his first SmackDown LIVE after low-blowing Dean Ambrose out of the WWE World Title, The Phenomenal One proclaimed that, since he’d made good on his promise to become champion, his word was now infallible and that everything he says from here on out should be taken as fact. So, for instance, if he was to claim that he could beat The Lunatic Fringe and John Cena, whom he knocked off at SummerSlam, in the same match, the WWE Universe would just have to take his word for it.
