WWE Releases Alberto Del Rio, Paige's Future Also In Doubt

Alberto Del Rio returned to the company at Hell in a Cell just last October, where he shockingly defeated John Cena to win the United States Championship. But his career was all downhill from there, highlighted by a failed run as a member of the League of Nations and a general lack of a push.

Things really took a turn for the worse last month when both Del Rio and Paige were suspended on August 18 for violating the company’s Talent Wellness Program. This came not long after a bizarre incident involving both superstars at Money in the Bank, one in which Paige was reportedly detained by police.

It has been a tumultuous couple of months for the couple, with rumors even surfacing that aWWE official threatened to terminate Paige’s contract if she did not end her relationship with Del Rio. That may have played a role in the latest report surrounding Paige, one that claims she could be taking legal action against WWE and is leaving the company.
